I think that's true only for the DL1000XT. which has a different handlebar. The regular handlebar on the DL650 and 1000 is the same bend and it results in the same forward lean (although, according to cycle-ergo, the V1 and Wee1 have a slightly more upright position than the newer bikes - 0 deg vs. 1 deg forward lean).
